How to Measure Your Wall for a Mural

Start with accurate measurements to find the right mural size for your space.

  • Measure the full width and height. Measure in several places and use the widest and tallest measurements. Record your dimensions as width × height in inches. If you use centimeters, clearly label the units.
  • Measuring more than one wall? Record the width and height of each wall separately. For a continuous design across multiple walls, include a sketch showing the wall order when submitting your custom request.
  • Include doors, windows, and sloped ceilings. Measure the entire wall area using its maximum width and height. Do not subtract doors or windows. For a custom request, include their sizes and positions so we can review the layout with you.
  • Choose a size that covers your wall. Make sure the mural covers both the full width and height. Any excess can be trimmed after hanging, following the installation guide included with your order.
  • No overlapping panels. Our murals are designed for an edge-to-edge, butt-joint fit with no overlap. Do not stretch the material during installation.
  • Need a custom size? Send your actual wall measurements and preferred design through our Custom Wall Mural form. We will review the dimensions and layout with you before your order is finalized.
